The Sheep and the Goats

But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left.

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me…’

Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me…’ ~Matthew 25:31-43

This is one of the many popular parables of Christ; of which the majority of them start with; “The Kingdom of Heaven is like…” I decided a month or so ago to do a study on why are we compared to sheep and goats. So I wanted to first look at the natural behaviors and characteristics of these animals and then parallel them with scripture. What I found out was astonishing…

First, let’s talk about the sheep.

The first thing we think when we hear the word “sheep” is that they’re dumb! However, I have found this to be quite the contrary. The first thing that struck me in my studies is that sheep are dependant. They have to depend on the shepherd to protect and guide them to where food and water is. They learn very early on, the voice of the shepherd, and store it in memory as a voice matched with safety and provision. Sheep also have excellent hearing and vision which is greatly needed since they are classified as prey and are technically defenseless.

Christ is called “The Good Shepherd” and says that his sheep know his voice (~John 10:11, 27). In order to know the shepherd, you have to not only be looking for him, but listening for him as well. Sheep have excellent hearing and vision not so they can wonder off, but so they can hear and see the shepherd and therefore follow him. As Christians, we should make it a priority early in our walk to know the voice of God. In my ministry, I have come across so many leaders who have been in ministry half of my life (and I’m 31), and yet ask me; “How do you here God’s voice?” In Psalms 46:10, the Lord stated; “Be still and know that I AM God!” Even Elijah, when he went into the wilderness at Mount Horeb, realized that God was not in the whirlwind, nor an earthquake, or the fire, but in a still, small voice (I Kings 19:11-12). Well in order to hear God’s still small voice, you’ve got to have good (spiritual) hearing and you have to be looking for him.

Some other characteristics of sheep is that they are peaceful and social creatures. They tend to graze in sets of four or five, and will actually become agitated if they are separated from the flock. They will ban tightly together whenever a predator is near. This is done to possibly confuse the predator by it not being able to single one out. And if a sheep’s surrounding is disturbed, or if they sense that danger is near, it’s their instinct to move uphill, especially if it is a well-lit area.

All throughout the bible we see relationships; this is because YHWH-God is about relationship. However, the funny thing with us “Christians” is that the majority of us are either trying to fix everything by ourselves (because we don’t want nobody in our business…including God), or we’re associating ourselves with people that we have no business being with. And when I say relationship or association, I’m covering all grounds; friends, partners, church-buddies, homeboys/girls, associates, boy/girlfriends, and your family members!

So who or what is the right relationship? Well, let’s look at what Jesus said.

In Matthew 12:46-50, Jesus’ family came to one of his gatherings and wanted to speak with him. Someone interrupted Jesus to tell him that his mother and brothers were outside waiting for him. Jesus’ response was; “Who is my mother? And who are my brethren?” And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples and said; “Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

God wants us to be social creatures (just like sheep), but we need to truly have Godly relationships and/or group ourselves with Godly individuals. Hebrews 10:25 states; “And let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of HIS return is drawing near.” The simple fact is; there is power in numbers! Even the Devil knows this (Matthew 12:43-45). Jesus said; “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or more gather together in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:19-20). So we need to assemble ourselves, and build relationships with sheep that are following The Good Shepherd; those who can hear the voice of the Lord and see in the spirit; those who are sober enough to discern when the devil is approaching. For it is with these sheep that you will begin to move uphill to safety, and where the light of the Lord dwells (He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. ~Psalms 91:1)

So if the way of the sheep will lead us to the Good Shepherd, and with Him, we won’t want of any good thing (Psalms 23:1); I would say that sheep are smarter than what they get credit for. What do you think?

Bible Prophecy, The Number 11, & The End Times

So did you hear that the rapture is supposed to take place on May 21, 2011? There's a group of people predicting “The end of the world" on this day. On top of that, there is an earthquake prediction for Rome today, from a self proclaimed seismologist (Raffaele Bendandi) who has been dead for 30 years! Ok, maybe I'm making light of some of these things, but apparently Rome is not, and thus many people are taking off on this particular day, including the closing of some schools.
Now saints, once again, the word of God says; "However, no one knows the day or the hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows" (Matthew 24:36 NLT). But as I have said many times before, the word says we should know the season.

I enjoy deep biblical studies on prophecy and the end times. And the Lord has revealed many revelations to me through his Holy Spirit. This is something I know is not prominent in the churches today. In fact, most churches are not prepping the people for the return of the Lord. They’re too wrapped up in head count, church functions, building funds, offering plates and “Not Offending” the people. Therefore many Christians today are like the five foolish virgins mentioned in Matthew 25:1-13; not having enough oil in their lamps.
In my personal research of the scriptures (modern and Hebraic) and through my upbringing, I have learned that YHWH-God is a great mathematician. If you pay close attention to the bible, you wil find that numbers are very important to him and are completed in everything he does.

In my studies, I have found that the number 11 means; Judgment/Disorder. If ten is the number which marks the perfection of Divine order, then eleven is an addition to it, subversive of and undoing that order. If twelve is the number which marks the perfection of Divine government, then eleven falls short of it. So that whether we regard it as being 10 + 1, or 12 - 1, it is the number which marks, disorder, disorganization, imperfection, and disintegration.

Apparently, some of the worst disasters, manmade and natural have happened revolving around the number 11. I’ll list a few that have happened just in the last decade.

Record European heat wave caused temperatures to reach 112°F on August 11, 2003The train bombing in Madrid, Spain was on March 11, 2004Bomb strikes several commuter trains in Mumbai, India on July 11, 2006Outbreak of the H1N1, is deemed a global pandemic on June 11, 2009Flooding and mudslides in Rio de Janeiro kill over 800 on January 11, 2011A 9.1 earthquake and subsequent tsunami hits Japan, killing over 14,000 and leaving 11,000 missing on March 11, 2011
Even in systems such as Astrology and basic Numerology, eleven is considered to be a master number that represents sin, transgression and peril.

On January 1, 2011, I went before the Lord (as I do every New Year) and asked him to show me in the scripture what would take place this year. The Lord gave me Jeremiah 11. In this scripture, judgment is brought upon Judah and Jerusalem for breaking God’s covenant. God promises that disasters will be brought upon the people, and their idols would not be able to save them. Only a week or so later, my mother (Annette Bridges) had an open vision of two kinds of whirlwinds. The Lord spoke to her and said that one represented tornados and the other represented hurricanes. He then proceeded with telling her that 2011 will be one of the worst years on record for every kind of disaster.

So far, five months into 2011, several records for natural disasters have been broken; from earthquakes to flooding. From tornados and snow storms, to massive animal dye-offs. Even things like the national debt and gas prices have reached all-time highs. And let’s not forget about the continuous unrest and historic rioting taking place all over the Middle East. Paul stated in 2 Timothy 3:1 that; "In the last days, perilous times will come". Well saints, We Are Here! The birth pangs are increasing and becoming more intense all around us. We must keep our robes washed and our sins under the blood. It is extremely important that we allow ourselves to be used as vessels of the Lord, in spreading the Gospel to the lost. Unfortunately, we live in the age of the Church of Laodicea, mentioned in Revelation 3:14-22; an age where Christians are blinded by religious routines and doctrines, instead of living and leading a life of forgiveness, deliverance, healing and discipleship. Therefore, many Christians will either go to hell or miss out on the rapture for simply doing nothing.

In Matthew 25:24-30 (NLT), Jesus stated; Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said; “Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate. I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back. But the master replied; “You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate, why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.” Then he ordered, “Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Saints, in this final hour before Christ calls his bride home, let’s make sure we are sold-out for Lord and truly following the example Jesus displayed for us. Jesus came down from heaven and led a humble life. He taught, he served, he forgave, and he helped. He healed, he believed, he endured and he LOVED. The greatest words you can ever here is; “Well done thy good and faithful servant…” Make sure you’re on that list. I pray this fed your spirit.

And By HIS Stripes...

"But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes we are healed". ~Isaiah 53:5

One night while I was lying in my bed, the Holy Spirit began speaking to me about this scripture. He began to give me a deeper revelation for the meaning of it, and I wanted to take a few moments to share with you what was revealed to me.

He was wounded for our transgressions…

Think of a wound; it’s external. It is an injury involving a cut or break in the skin. Transgressions are external sins. They are defined as a violation of a law, command or duty. So robbing someone would be considered a transgression. It is a break in the law that keeps a place (i.e. city, country, or nation) whole. Through Christ’s wounds, he took on all transgressions or law breakers.

He was bruised for our iniquities…

A bruise occurs underneath the skin (therefore it can be considered internal), and it usually doesn’t surface right away. It can be one of the end results of an injury to a part of the body. Iniquities are internal sins, or sins of the heart. It is defined as gross immorality, injustice or wickedness. It is a sin that becomes a habit or a part of you; therefore it controls you instead of you controlling it. Iniquities can bruise your relationship with Christ, who wants all of your heart. Any sin that is habitual can become an iniquity; but some examples are lust, envy and pride. Through Christ’s bruises, he took on every iniquity you and I could ever contain.

The chastisement of our peace was upon him…

This is explained by "therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans 5:1, where the reference is not to a state of heart, but to a relation with God. "Peace with God" does not have reference to anything that is subjective, but only to what is objective. Not to an inward peace of conscience, (though that should follow if you repent), nor to that "peace of God which passes all understanding" which keeps our hearts and minds through Christ, but to have Peace With God. So in other words; reconciliation. It means we are no longer the objects of His displeasure, and have no more reason to dread the divine vengeance. It is that blessed relationship, which results from the expiation of our sins. Because Christ endured the penalty of our sins, we are no longer God’s enemies, but subjects of His favor. Every one that is justified does not enjoy peace of conscience (though we should); but every justified person has peace with God whether they know it or not, because through Christ, God’s aught with us has ended.

And by His stripes, we are healed…

Christ was beaten with a whip called a “cat of nine tails”. I looked up the significant meaning of the number nine in the bible. Nine is a number of judgment, outcome and finality. Healing is the desired finality of a cut, bruise or disease. So instead of dying from our sickness, sins and diseases, Christ interceded as the healing or correct/desired finality of the state. I also found out it was Roman law that a criminal being flogged should only receive thirty-nine lashes. It was deemed that the fortieth lash would kill a man. According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), there are thirty-nine categories of diseases known to man. So for every lash Christ took, he bore our sickness and diseases.

In conclusion, through Jesus’ death we are no longer prisoner to sickness, sin and death. He suffered and died so that you and I wouldn’t have to. All we have to do is call upon the precious name of Jesus to receive salvation and healing. Every living human being has access to this gift. I pray this fed your spirit.

The Names of YHVH(God)

Several months ago I was given a revelation about the meaning of Elohim and El Shaddai. The Holy Spirit gave me the understanding that there are different times in our lives that God will present himself in these fashions. I want to give you a breakdown of these Hebraic names, their meanings and how they can be manifested in your life. Elohim is the Hebrew plural word meaning “gods and goddesses” (which is the masculine plural of a feminine noun, used as a singular), but each time it appears in the Bible it is translated as singular "God." This is significant because YHVH is the God of all gods. There is none before him, there is none after him. We also have the Holy Trinity (God-the Father, God-the Son, and God-the Holy Ghost), which are three, yet one. YHVH-God is One or Whole. When Adam was first created in the garden, he was whole. He contained both male and female. Therefore Adam would have been able to reproduce himself had God not decided to create Eve. Notice that Eve was taken from Adam and created from one of his ribs. Adam called Eve, “woman”, which merely means a man with a womb. Yahweh said; “Let us create man in our image, after our likeness” ~Genesis 1:26. When he said “man”, it wasn’t indicating the sexual identification of being male, but the whole race of man. But notice that he said; “In our image, after our likeness”. In heaven everything is whole. This is why the Apostle Paul talks about the body of Christ being one body with many members. The literal body of Christ (being us, who are saved by the blood and grace of Jesus Christ) contains both male and female. But in heaven, when we are transformed into our heavenly bodies, there won’t be a sexual orientation of male or female. We will be one, and all will be called HIS bride. YHVH-God is the I AM; meaning the wholeness and perfection of both male and female as a spirit. And before the fall, Adam was intended to be an offspring of God’s perfection. Elohim, when used in certain utterances, also means “Ruler”, “The Existing One” and/or “The Law”. When God comes to us as Elohim, he is presented as a Judge or The Law. Therefore he is shown in his power, rulership and magnificence. For example; Yahweh-God manifested himself as Elohim when he gave Moses the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. He is presented as Elohim throughout the bible when dealing with our enemies. And he will be presented as Elohim at the final judgment seat. Elohim is who will cause every knee to bow and every tongue to confess that Yeshua (Jesus Christ) is Lord. El-Shaddai means “God Almighty”. El points to the power of God Himself. Shaddai seems to be derived from another Hebraic word, Shadayim; meaning “breast”. When a baby latches on to the mother’s breast, it receives nourishment and the baby becomes satisfied once full. The bible says; “But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” ~Philippians 4:19. When Yahweh-God comes to us as El-Shaddai, he is presented as one who nourishes, supplies, and satisfies. It is God as El who helps, but it is God as Shaddai who abundantly blesses with all manner of blessings. There are many names for Yahweh-God, which all add up to the conclusion the there are no limits to him. He is whole, pure, and complete. And we as saints have the power to pray the manifestation of his spirit into our lives. Yeshua (Jesus) said; “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” ~John 14:13. Yeshua and Yahweh are one, but it is only through the son, that we can get to the father. Understanding who Yahweh-God is, helps us to live in the fullness of him and through this, we can touch the lives of others. I pray this fed your spirit.
